Barnsley Hospital, with university training commencing in September.
As a Trainee ACP, you will
start at Band 6 and progress to Band 7 upon completing three core modules. Once
you successfully complete the full course and competencies, you will be
uplifted to Band 8a.

The Surgical Same
Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit is for patients who require emergency surgical
care that day or can be treated on an ambulatory basis without the need for
admission.
Surgical SDEC is located next to the
Emergency Department (ED) / medical SDEC and is close to the radiology department.
The unit is open from 7:30am-8pm with referrals being accepted from 8am to 6pm
seven days a week. The successful candidate will be joining our unit at an
exciting time in its development and will be part of a friendly and supportive
team.
Main duties of the job
Once qualified you will be expected to work autonomously but within a wider surgical team, assessing, ordering and interpreting investigations, diagnosis and creating an appropriate management plan. This involves complex diagnostic decision making, prescribing, treatment planning and the ability to manage complex situations effectively, safety and decisively, whilst being supported by our SDEC clinical lead and SpR.
