Job summary
This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3, apprentices should note that the salary would be Agenda for Change Annex 21 trainee rate (75%max of band) until they have completed their apprenticeship.

An opportunity has arisen for trainee payroll officer. With training you you will be responsible for a section of the Foundation Trust monthly payroll.Previous experience of working in payroll within a large diverse organisation is required.
The in-house payroll team provide a full payroll and pension function for circa 4150 staff of the Foundation Trust and circa 510 staff for Barnsley Facilities Services.
The Team are based at modern offices in the heart of Barnsley town centre, Gateway Plaza is a short walk from the Interchange and town centre shops. Remote working is available for part of the week.
Main duties of the job
The main function of the payroll team is to pay the hospital staff accurately and on time, any queries need to be resolved in a timely manner.
The role will include inputting and verification of data to Electronic Staff Record (ESR), ensuring the work is completed in line with financial timescales and Trust procedures
Calculation of Occupational Maternity pay and all forms of parental leave, Occupational Sickness pay, Special Leave etc.
Distribution of payroll inputs, change forms etc, and maintaining the generic payroll inbox
Booking of Hotel and Rail tickets for business journeys and approved learning & development, through the CTM travel software.
