Job summary

An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join the innovative Digital Projects Team, part of the ICT Directorate at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. ICT has an excellent reputation in the organisation, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join us as an EPR Implementation Specialist.

This is a permanent role to support the delivery of our exciting digital transformation agenda covering a wide range of clinical systems across the Trust. This role is core to the consistent successful delivery of projects into the Trust.

Working with other members of the team you will support the Digital Transformation and have access to all areas of the project lifecycle. This covers the initiation, design, testing, preparation for go-live and hand over to our Clinical Systems team.

Main duties of the job

During the past five years we have built a highly effective Digital Projects Team that has delivered significant change improvements to the Trust. We are a collaborative, welcoming and focused on the delivery of new solutions to benefit the Trust, our patients and the people of Barnsley.

The EPR Implementation Specialist is pivotal to the success of our continued success and will work alongside the Project Manager, Clinical System Team and Clinical Digital Team to deliver a varied range of projects.

No day is the same and you will gain lots of experience working with different teams and systems, enabling you to find your key strengths and interests. Each EPR IS will typically lead on a stage in a project, within a safe environment to develop skills and experience.

Contribute to information gathering as part of the initiation phase.

Facilitate sessions and record information and business processes as part of the design and build phase.

Devise testing plans and facilitate testing sessions

Create training plans and material, ensuring the are suitable for Trust use.

Provide support during the go live and post go live periods.

Escalate risks and issues to the Project Manager as and when necessary.

Identification, analysis and planning of actions to engage and negotiate with key stakeholders.

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner or relevant experience working in a project management environment

  • Any recognised portfolio/programme/ project support qualification.

  • Prior experience gained within a similar role within a NHS environment.
