Job summary

Do you have an interest in patient education?

We are looking to recruit an individual to deliver the XPERT education programme locally. Experience of the XPERT course would be preferable but not essential as training will be provided to successful candidates.

You should work well as part of a team but also have the aptitude to work independently.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will deliver The Type 2 Diabetes, X-pert Education programme to patients in Barnsley.

The programme is delivered in several different locations across Barnsley, therefore the successful applicant will need to hold a UK driving License.

  • Basic understanding of Type 2 Diabetes, causal factors and pathophysiology.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the NICE guidance for people living with type 2 diabetes.

Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in presentation skills.
  • Proven experience of working as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Variety of experience in health care or adult education settings.
  • Experience of settings standards and meeting local targets.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including maths and English.
  • Willing to undertake Diabetes/Adult Education training qualifications to Diploma Level.

Desirable

  • Qualification in adult education eg BTEC award in education and training.
