This is an exciting opportunity to join our Ward 23 General Medicine teamin a fast-paced and high demanding role as our Environment Coordinator.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to apply who display our Trust values in everything that they do.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will carry out a range of assigned duties under the supervision of the nurse in charge of the ward.

These include undertaking daily, weekly, and monthly checks for all Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) that do not require a registered nurse to undertake. You will documenting that SOPs have been checked by signing the ward file and deal with any issues that arise from SOPs checks.

The postholder will undertake checks relating to Fire Manual (after appropriate Fire Marshall training) and reporting any faults at ward level e.g. broken toilet seats, beds, blinds/curtains etc and progress chasing any reported items.

You will ensure the ongoing cleanliness of the ward in conjunction with the ward team, including liaising with domestic staff where appropriate along will ensuring that the patient bed areas is clean and tidy following discharge, including safe disposal of any consumables in line with Trust policies and procedures.

You will also ensure that bed area is restocked as appropriate for the next patient.
