Job summary
We
are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Information Governance Support
Officer to join our Corporate Information Governance and CAM team. This is a
pivotal role supporting the Trusts compliance with data protection
legislation, Freedom of Information (FOI), and broader information governance
frameworks.This role is permanent
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
Act as a central
point of contact for all aspects of Information Governance, including Data
Protection and FOI.
Manage and
maintain the Trusts FOI Publication Scheme and ensure accurate registration
with the Information Commissioner.
Lead the
day-to-day handling of FOI requests, including applying relevant exemptions and
ensuring timely responses.
Provide expert
advice and support to staff across all levels on IG matters.
Monitor
developments in Information Rights legislation and update local guidance
accordingly.
Collaborate with
colleagues to develop and maintain IG policies and procedures.
Coordinate
mandatory IG training in partnership with the Learning and Development
department, ensuring alignment with national standards and the DSP Toolkit.
What Were Looking For
Strong
understanding of UK GDPR, FOI Act 2000, and related legislation.
Excellent
communication and organisational skills.
Ability to
interpret complex guidance and translate it into practical advice.
Experience in
policy development and staff training is desirable.

confidentiality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
