Job summary
An exciting
opportunity has arisen for a motivated Diabetes Specialist nurse to join
Barnsley’s Integrated Diabetes Service (BIDS) to deliver high-quality inpatient
and outpatient care to patients with all types of Diabetes within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
We
require the successful candidate to be highly focused, enthusiastic and able to
demonstrate the appropriate competencies for the role, work autonomously and
have good communication skills at all levels. In return, they will be supported by the Senior Diabetes
Specialist Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide specialist
advice, support and education to the patient, relative and carers. There will
be opportunities for Continuing Professional Development through a variety of
sources.
The predominant
focus of the post holder will be to support the Senior Inpatient Diabetes
Specialist Nurse in assessing, implementing and evaluating diabetes patient
care within the inpatient setting. In addition, the role will involve attending
specialist clinics and providing education to healthcare professionals.
