Are you a Health Care Support Worker or Health Care Assistant wishing to progress their career into a registered nursing role? The Nursing Associate (NA) is a nursing role developed to support the Registered Nurse in England.

Main duties of the job
This exciting opportunity is being offered for Trainee Nursing Associates as an apprenticeship within a Partnership with other providers and will enable you to be part of a 2-year work-based learning programme, delivered in conjunction with The University of Sheffield to achieve a Foundation Degree and become a Nursing Associate.
Successful applicants will be allocated a base placement which will be at Barnsley Hospital and will be in the same area for the duration of the 2-year programme.
The course will include alternative placements within the Barnsley Place Base to cover care provision 'in hospital', 'close to home, and 'at home'. These will be situated in a variety of inpatient and community-based settings. There may be occasions when your placements could be situated outside the Place Base of Barnsley. Successful candidates will be expected to travel to alternative placements outside of the organisation. For recruitment into Trainee Nursing Associate positions commencing in Autumn 2024, base employment areas will be in CBU 1 and 2 (Medicine and Urgent Care and, Surgery).
