This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3, apprentices should note that the salary would be Agenda for Change Annex 21 trainee rate (75%max of band) until they have completed their apprenticeship.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and pro-active individual to join our Day Surgery & Endoscopy Department.

We are looking for a self-motivated and highly organised individual to be part of our leadership team within Endoscopy.

You must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a flexible approach and be able to work under your own initiative. You will need to be a dedicated team player who has the ability to work professionally at all times and the determination to be part of the leadership team and work with the administrative and clerical staff throughout the Trust. Excellent communication and customer care skills are expected. As this is a very busy department the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines is key. You will provide an efficient, courteous and professional service at all times. Knowledge of the healthcare/organisation environment is desirable.

You will be educated to GCSE standard or hold relevant equivalent knowledge/experience. It is essential that you have previous telephone experience and experience of working with various computer software packages.

Main duties of the job

This is a key post that carries the responsibility for ensuring that we achieve our Targets and provide a first class administrative function in support of the DSEU Service.

Booking patients in accordance with National and Trust targets.

Assist the Admin Co-ordinator in maximum utilisation of endoscopy sessions.

Reception duties as and when required.

Waiting list validation

Works independently, without supervision, to provide an efficient and effective clerical support system to the Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit

Provide guidance and support to the Clerical Officer.
