An exciting opportunity
has arisen for 1 Data Warehouse Developer to work within the Business
Intelligence Department at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Business Intelligence team
aims to deliver responsive, high quality information by actively engaging with
the local health community and soliciting its current and changing requirements
in support of the Trusts Vision and Strategy in order to:
meet users expectations and needs for high quality
services in informatics,
deliver those services effectively, efficiently and
responsively,
develop and enhance close partnerships with the
Trusts divisions and other local health communities so as to encourage the best
working practices,
plan ahead co-operatively to keep pace with
changing needs, providing leadership for innovation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support
the provision of management information to users across the Trust, by ensuring
that specialist or complex IM&T information is processed in accordance with
policies and procedures. Investigate
specialist or complex IM&T issues, this will include assisting in the
development and maintenance of the MS SQL server data warehouse reporting and
back-end functionality (using tools in the Microsoft SQL server BI Stack such
as SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL) as well as working with data feeder systems to ensure
timely trust wide access to the required Business Intelligence.
The postholder will utilise
ETL Data skills (Extract Transform and load) using SSIS SQL Server integration
services to import and load data into the Data Warehouse. T-SQL scripting using
Management Studio including Views, stored procedures and functions will be used
extensively and form the basis of producing reports within the data warehouse.
The postholder will support
the senior data warehouse developer in providing specialist advice to IM&T
and non-IM&T users, developing and/or adapting complex code/reports and
delivering specialist training for users.
The postholder will provide
input to projects and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing
business intelligence on a range of NHS Performance and Commissioning targets.
