Job summary

An exciting opportunity exists on the JAG accredited Endoscopy unit at Barnsley Hospital for a band 5 Endoscopy Practitioner!

We are looking for an innovative and hardworking qualified nurse, endoscopy experience desirable but not essential as a full training package will be delivered by our team of practice educators.

There will be an expectation for you to cover on call over and above the hours you are contracted for ensuring emergency cover 24/7.

This post will be required to cover over at least a four-day working week.

There will be opportunities for you to develop your skills and abilities on the unit.

Further training opportunities will be available for staff internally and externally.

Main duties of the job

Daily duties will include coordination of the endoscopy sessions including but not limited to, pre-admission, admission and nurse led discharge of patients.

Direct involvement in endoscopy sessions including Upper and Lower GI endoscopies, Respiratory sessions and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography).

Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out endoscopic procedures.

Responsible for safe custody of medication including checking and administration.
