Job summary

The role of the Medical Staffing function is to support the Trust in achieving its strategic aims and service objectives by developing more flexible ways of employing, retaining and rewarding Medical and Dental Staff and by supporting line managers to manager their staff.

We require a highly motivated individual to work in our busy department. You will be required to work with the minimum of supervision and as part of a team to support the recruitment and selection process generally, ensuring that procedures and policies in relation to advertising, interviewing and appointments are adhered to.

Applicants should possess good communication and organisational skills and be able to work under pressure. Previous reception experience and computer/keyboard skills are essential for this post.

Main duties of the job

To support the recruitment and selection process generally, ensuring that procedures and policies in relation to advertising, interviewing and appointments are adhered to:

- Processing of job adverts on to the relevant system as required

- To receive and deal with all enquiries related to vacancies

- To prepare for and assist Managers with on-line shortlisting

- To support Medical Staffing Officer / Senior Medical Staffing Officer in the planning and arranging of interviews and to ensure that all necessary checks are carried out before candidates are invited to interview

- To undertake all necessary pre-employment checks and ensure they are recorded as required

- Awareness of all recruitment procedures including Equal Opportunities information, declaration of convictions, Data Protection Act requirements and ensure this is adhered to at all times

- To liaise with Occupational Health in relation to all new appointments

- To produce written statements of terms and conditions of service and to ensure the documentation relating to new recruits are completed for signature of the Senior Medical Staffing Officer / Medical Staffing Officer

- To work with Managers on ensuring the time to recruit KPI are adhered to

- To internally audit recruitment files to ensure the team are adhering to NHS Employers Guidance
