We are seeking individuals who are highly motivated to join our Medical Physiotherapy and Neurotherapy Team as a Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant. The post would suit a motivated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to work well as part of a team, ideally with prior assistant or healthcare experience although this is not essential.

Good communication and time management are required to work within a busy inpatient environment across a variety of settings. The caseload and duties will require you to provide therapy interventions and implement programmes of care devised predominantly by the Physiotherapists, training and a competency package are included in the role.

As part of this post you will be expected to be flexible in your working pattern to cover a 7 day service across the Medical / Surgical Team as service need requires.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for implementing therapy programs delegated by the Physiotherapist to aid the rehabilitation of patient.

You will carry your own caseload supervised or unsupervised and treat patients according to set protocols monitoring patients progress and reporting back any changes to the appropriate Therapist.

You will be responsible for clinically relevant administrative duties in BHNFT to ensure smooth service delivery.

You will experience a comprehensive induction process and have access to learning opportunities and development, including the opportunity for apprenticeship training to become a B4 assistant practitioner and/or a registered practitioner

The successful applicant will have excellent team working skills and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients, as well as being able to work alone.

Flexibility of working times and practice is essential which will include 7 day working, weekend working.
