An opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join a dynamic and continually developing Physiotherapy Service at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an excellent opportunity for both new graduate or experienced physiotherapist to develop knowledge and skills working within an acute hospital trust. We will consider applications for graduates who are pending their HCPC Registration.

We are seeking highly motivated Physiotherapists with excellent assessment and treatment planning skills. You will also have excellent team working, time management and communication skills. Working with multi-professional teams, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain experience from the following range of specialities: Orthopaedics ,Medical, Cardiorespiratory , Surgery and ITU, paediatrics / womens health , Out patients , Neurology , Urgent care and the Acorn rehabilitation unit.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide respiratory on call services (following training)

Successful candidates will be expected to work in a flexible way to cover a 7-day working week.

This role will be supported by Senior Physiotherapists offering supervision support and training. A thorough induction including a super numery period will be provided and a thorough preceptorship program .

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work in a variety of clinical areas, specialising in each area for a period of six months under supervision of a senior physiotherapist.

To manage a defined clinical caseload, with support and supervision of a senior Physiotherapist. To work in partnership with patients, carers and the multidisciplinary team to identify relevant goals. To conduct the assessment, treatment and evaluation of patients, documenting input and communicating as appropriate with hospital based Multidisciplinary Team and partner agencies.

The post holder will be a key player in the planning of safe and effective patient discharges appropriate to the clinical area.

To actively participate in continual professional development (CPD).

To take some responsibility for work experience, observational students and support staff.

To advocate and promote the profession within the trust, with patients and within the local area.

To adhere to the Trusts Values and beliefs.
