An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated person to join our Neurotherapy team as a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist. This opportunity will allow the postholder to join our neurotherapy team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. Previous Neurology/stroke experience is essential.

The Neurotherapy Team is proactive in providing a holistic service, working within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure our patients receive high quality intervention, achieve their rehabilitation goals and are safely discharged in a timely manner.

Good communication and time management are required to work within a busy inpatient environment across a variety of settings. Training and a competency package are included in the role. You will also actively particiapte in the Respiratory on call service.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for implementing your own therapy intervention as well as supervise B5/3S within the team. You will demonstrate your clinical educator skills through student placements and actively participate in IST.

You will predominantly work closely with the MDT as well as joint therapy assessments and treatment sessions.

You will carry your own caseload and treat patients according to set protocols monitoring patients progress and participate in both local and national audits

You will be responsible for clinically relevant administrative duties in BHNFT to ensure smooth service delivery.

You will experience a comprehensive induction process and have access to learning opportunities and development.

The successful applicant will have excellent team working skills and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and patients, as well as being able to work alone.
