Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Practitioner to come and work within the Occupational Health Service.
You will work with the multidisciplinary team to directly impact on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace through the promotion of positive Mental Health at work. In addition, you will advise Managers on Mental Ill-Health issues e.g. recognising anxiety, stress depression.
You will be required to liaise with staff from across the organisation and external partners, as well as external contractors/service providers.
If you are a proactive and forward-thinking practitioner with demonstrable relevant experience, looking for a varied role in which you can use your flexibility, clinical and organisational skills, then we are looking for you to join us.
Main duties of the job
To deliver specialist advice within the Trust and to external client groups as per agreed contracts and Service Level Agreements.
To promote Occupational Health within the Trust and maintain an understanding and good working relationships with all client groups in relation to this post.
To respond to the professional developments in Occupational Health Practice and Health and Safety Legislation in relation to this post.
To be aware of new initiatives and develop policies to ensure that legal requirements are communicated effectively to clients to minimize health and safety risks.
To update bank of current self-help literature or online information;
To refer to multidisciplinary team within Occupational Health and other outside agencies / GP where necessary.
To advise managers on Mental Health issues in the workplace and on the management of individual cases where employees are on long-term sickness or have persistent short-term absence.
To work pro-actively undertaking group work with those departments who have high sickness absence levels due to Mental Health issues to reduce the levels or are in crisis.
