The hours for this post are 28 per week.
We require a highly motivated individual to work in our busy Emergency Department reception. You will be required to work with the minimum of supervision and as part of a team, dealing with all the clerical duties associated with patients attending the Emergency Department.
You will work night shifts 4 nights on, 5 nights off, shift times 2200 - 0730. This will include weekends and Bank Holidays as they fall on the rota.
Applicants should possess good communication and organisational skills and be able to work under pressure. Previous recent reception experience and computer/keyboard skills are essential for this post
Main duties of the job
To carry out the full range of specified duties in the Emergency Department reception area in order to provide an effective and efficient clerical support service to the Emergency Department.
Booking of appointments, rescheduling appointments, faxing referrals, booking transport as appropriate and dealing with enquiries from the general public and staff.
Undertaking reception duties, answering telephones, retrieving x-rays and case notes as required.
Photocopying duties, production of ED cards and ED labels.
To assist in the streamlining of all patients arriving in the Emergency Department utilising communication and IT skills.
