Post 1 -Permanent 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

Post 2 - 12 month fixed term (covering Maternity Leave) 30 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

An opportunity has risen for two highly motivated MDT Co-ordinators to join our Cancer Services team at Barnsley Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work to organise and take minutes during multiple weekly meetings, monitor patient pathways in line with local, regional, and national cancer targets, collect data, and coordinate results. In addition to these tasks, you will also handle a range of general administrative duties to ensure we provide first-class care and treatment for our cancer patients. Your role is vital in maintaining the high standards of care at Barnsley Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to provide administrative and data collection support to the nine tumour specific Multi Disciplinary Teams (MDTs).

Organising MDT meetings including venue arrangements, preparation, collation and distribution of papers utilising information from MDT leads, CNSs and Support services (Pathology & Radiology) and recording minutes and attendance logs

- Tracking confirmed cancer cases and urgent suspected cancer patients to ensure treatment in line with local, regional and national targets, escalating to the appropriate teams about potential delays that could results in breaches

- Facilitation of the referral and transfer of patients to Tertiary Treatment Centres, ensuring the relevant documentation is available and following up on patients discuss in MDT to ensure timely implementation of actions and next steps

- Support the capture and submission of the Cancer Outcomes Services Dataset (COSD) and national audit data by ensuring cancer wait times are recorded timely and accurately and uploaded to the national database

There will be an element of performing various administrative duties to support the MDT and ensure the smooth operation of cancer services. The exact nature and extent of that support will be agreed by the MDT Lead, Lead Cancer Manager and the MDT Co-ordinator.
