We are seeking an individual who is dedicated, motivated and proactive, who also has excellent verbal skills.

The department provides the Financial Services to the Trust and Barnsley Facilities Services Limited which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Trust. The main duties of the Assistant Financial Accountant will be in the recording of the capital transactions and managing the fixed asset register and the day to day recoding of the charitable funds income and expenditure working closely with the Charitable Funds Team. The post reports in to the Financial Accountant who overseas capital and the charity. The post holder will also perform monthly reconciliations, code various invoices and upload the weekly Pharmacy & NHS Supply chain feeds.

Main duties of the job

To code and process various invoices for example payroll deductions, utility & phone invoices, and legal invoices via losses.

To deal with and investigate complex queries from Suppliers regarding payments due.

Responsible for the recording of all the capital transactions against the respective capital schemes.

The completion of journals for month end accruals relating to the expenditure transactions.

To deal with any accounts receivable, accounts payable and cashier queries relating to Agresso.

To reconcile the payroll file to the ledger. Prepare and pay monthly Tax & NI to HMRC and superannuation to NHS Pensions.

Manage the payroll procedure for Integra Back office and ensuring that the appropriate Tax & NI deductions are paid over to HMRC.

Input the weekly stock feed interface into the ledger for both the Trust & BFS, ensuring that this balances to the invoice.

Totally responsible for maintaining all records for Donated Funds (approximately £1.0m).

The completion of final accounts for the Funds held on Trust in accordance with Charity Commission guidance and the Statements of Recommended Accounting Practice.

Provide information for the Trustees meeting, as directed by the Financial Accountant.

Deputise for the Senior Accountant in their absence.
