An exciting opportunity has arisen, to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Principal information Analyst to work within the Business Intelligence team, at Barnsley Hospital.
As a Principal Information Analyst, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of the work within an assigned central business unit (CBU), ensuring that all work is accurate, prioritised and deadlines are met, investigating enquiries on specialist analyses and advising as required to a group, or face-to-face.
The role will lead on analysing and presenting complex, contentious and sensitive data, interpreting and reporting on results for the given area of work. The reporting could be challenged and will require sensitive handling and debate. Data will often be presented to groups of clinical and non-clinical staff.
The post will currently be to assigned to CBU1, which is our medical team and the emergency department. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced team of analysts, developers and management. As a high performing team, we offer a person-centred approach to the post holders independence and well-being. The role is based at Gateway Plaza with the flexibility of home-working.
Main duties of the job
The Principal Analyst will need to maintain a high standard of accurate reporting. You will:
Oversee the management of the core tasks within their team, by ensuring that all reports are completed to deadlines.
Respond to, support and provide specialised guidance to their team, in responding to requests for information which will involve providing and receiving highly complex and sensitive information from/to managers, and clinicians.
Be the lead specialist in providing, receiving and making judgements on complex or sensitive information to support the team with all information requirements.
Be jointly responsible for ensuring that all information returns are completed and submitted by the defined deadlines.
Be responsible for regularly auditing the data quality of reports which could instigate in-depth investigation into datasets and/or data entry.
Lead the team on internal and external/national audits/surveys.
Be the lead analyst for involvement in the annual local delivery planning for their assigned areas.
The work could involve unpredictable and conflicting demands on the team, which may move deadlines or adjusting to meet customer requirements, at very short notice and being able to make the judgment on the allocation of resources.
