An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clerical officer to work within our friendly breast screening team.
The post holder will work within the team delivering a high-quality breast screening and symptomatic services.
we are looking for a self-motivated and highly organised individual to join our team. This is an extremely busy directorate so the need to work effectively under pressure is a key requirement of this post.
You must have an interpersonal and organisational skills, a flexible approach and be able to work under own initiative. You will need to be a dedicated team player who has the ability to work professionally at all times. The role will involve appointment booking, administration duties and providing a friendly and efficient reception services. Excellent communication and customer care skills are expected. Knowledge of the national health service breast screening programme would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
To provide an effective and professional reception service to the Breast Imaging Unit Medical Imaging department at Barnsley Hospital and at the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Barnsley town centre.
Receiving and booking in patients using relevant hospital systems, checking all patient identifiable data is accurate and updating as necessary.
Directing patients to the appropriate waiting areas. To keep patient informed of current waiting times. To monitor the waiting areas, alerting clinical staff and security to any incident should the need arise.
Dealing with queries and requests from the public, other hospital departments and external providers.
