Ward 33 are seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthopaedic Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialised care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including fractures, joint replacements, and spinal injuries. You will work closely with Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthogeriatric Consultants, Physiotherapists and Advanced Clinical Practitioners. We work in-line with the Best Practice Tariff for our fractured neck of femur patients to ensure optimal outcomes for our patients.
Communication will be a vital part of your role to ensure safe and holistic care. We take direct admissions from the Emergency Department and also repatriations from other hospitals. The successful candidate will be expected to model and uphold the Trust values and behaviours, providing a positive culture and environment for their
colleagues and patients.
The Sister/Charge Nurse role will ensure that there is safe and effective management of the clinical area and contribute to the professional development of junior staff. The role includes responsibility for coordinating care, maintaining clinical standards and promoting patient safety and service improvement. You will act as the senior Nurse for the ward/department and will, participate in bed management and patient flow as required.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing the safe flow of patients, including admissions and discharges
Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out tasks
The administration and checking of medication
Keeping up to date with all mandatory and role specific training

Ensure compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will motivate colleagues, champion patient safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.
