Job summary
This is an exciting new opportunity to work as a Cardiology
Consultant across two Hospital sites.
This is a Joint role so you will have the opportunity to
work in Two Hospitals
Barnsley Hospital will be the Host site for this role where
you will work 6 PA and 5 PA at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals within their
Cardiology and Cardiothoracic services.
There will be flexibility in the role to develop your own
interests in this area.
You will work with the Cardiology Department in Barnsley
contributing to Clinics, Ward Referrals and Streamlining the Treat and Return
pathway to Sheffield for TAVI, Angios CABG etc.
You will work in Cardiology and Cardiothoracic service
Sheffield contributing to Clinics ward rounds and both diagnostic and
interventional procedures.
The appointee
will participate in the on call rota for interventional cardiology which
includes the primary angioplasty service.
They will also contribute to the rotating consultant of the week
ward-based cover.

Essential
- MRCP or Equivalent
- Full GMC registration, and proven skills and up-to-date experience in acute medicine OR Full GMC registration, and within 12 months of specialist registration in GIM with proven skills and up-to-date experience in GiM due to completion of training, or application via GMC CESR with the submission completed at time of interview in either case.
- EEGC well on the way to completion
- Sub-speciality approval in cardiology at time of final ARCP
Desirable
- MD or equivalent in cardiology related subject at time of starting post
- EEGC completed
