Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation
Trust is looking to recruit a Consultant Paediatrician with Expertise in Cardiology.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop the paediatric service in
conjunction with the regional paediatric cardiology network. It is anticipated
that the successful candidate, with the support of the cardiology network, will
develop Cardiology Services for children in Barnsley in line with the needs of
the local population. The post holder will also be expected to have at least 25%
of their clinical work being related to cardiology and the remainder being
General Paediatrics and Neonates (as Barnsley is a level 2 Neonatal Unit). In addition, we are looking for a
candidate who has a strong interest in Medical Education. The successful consultant
will be taking on a shared role of College Tutor.
The post holder will work
collaboratively with the visiting tertiary cardiology Consultant to maintain
and provide a high-quality paediatric cardiology service for Barnsley. They
should expect to participate in joint cardiology as well as conduct independent
cardiology clinics. This opportunity is ideal a PEC to lead our vision for
Paediatric Cardiology care locally.
