Job summary
An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated full or part time
substantive Consultant Clinical Lead Dermatologist at Barnsley Hospital. You
will be joining a friendly supportive team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors,
Junior Medical Staff, Allied Health Professionals and a Specialist Nursing
team.The Role as clinical lead will allow the successful
candidate to work together with the Service Manager and Matron in shaping the
future of Dermatology Service at Barnsley Hospital. You will have shared
responsibility for the operational performance, clinical quality and resource
management of the service, providing leadership and management.
Main duties of the job
Be
responsible for the planning, delivery and improvement of clinical care in
Dermatology at Barnsley Hospital,
Liaise
with other Health Care Organisations, Social Services, General Practitioners
and Voluntary Organisations as required
Contribute
to the teaching of other grades of staff, both within and outside the
department, including medical staff and nurses.
Carry
out medical teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required.
Participate in the formal appraisal of
junior medical staff
Demonstrate continuing improvements to
the quality of service provided within the framework of the Trusts Clinical
Governance arrangements.
Contribute
towards the achievement of the Trust's corporate objective/strategic direction
Contribute
to the management process
Be
responsible for maintaining an up-to-date service
Advise
medical, nursing, managerial and other colleagues on appropriate matters.
With
colleagues, accepting equal responsibility for ensuring that an appropriate
level of cover is maintained within the department during periods of
absence/leave.
