Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individuals who want to work as part of a passionate, friendly and successful team with our Anaesthetic Rota Team.
This role is an existing role but is an expansion to the current workforce, showing continued growth within the team, adding an additional roles will ensure the current workload and on going developments can be supported.
This role will support the Anaesthetic Services and Rota Manager in ensuring an adequate, safe and appropriate provision of an anaesthetic service in order to support Trust activity. To support the Anaesthetic Services and Rota Manager in providing a comprehensive rota coordination function for anaesthetic services, this includes filling gaps using the Trust medical bank and locum agencies for short notice deficits and provision.
We are looking for skilled and accomplished individuals with the ability to drive our vision for further improvement. You will need excellent influencing and negotiation skills, a proven track record of working closely with clinical colleagues and experience of delivering to standards and deadlines.
Now is a fantastic time to join the team with exciting developments underway within the CBU including expansion of our theatre complex and improved co located adjacencies and staff facilities as well as the Health on the High Street project which will see a number of services relocate to the town centre to develop a health wellbeing hub.
Main duties of the job
Providing support to the Clinical Leads with their management duties to ensure appropriate time management to allow Clinical Lead duties to proceed, including job planning, arranging strategic meetings, strategic services review, diary management. Providing accurate up-to-date data on day to day management issues (theatre activity, sickness and absence, rota gaps and funding impact including locum agency costs).
Providing support to ensure medical staff rotas provide appropriate, safe and efficient cover. Ensure staff deployment matches speciality demands. Troubleshoot on day to day basis deficits in provision ensuring matching of experience of medical staff to demands from the service.
Support the co-ordination of annual leave for the permanent medical staff in the department, keeping accurate records.
Ensure sickness absence monitoring is recorded accurately and return to work interviews are arranged in a timely fashion according to protocols, supporting the Deanery for Medical Trainees outside the Trust.
Organise training for the management trainee allocated by arranging appointments with key hospital staff (CE, COO, MD, Chair etc) for education and additional meetings for experience (Trust Board, Finance, QISEB etc), in order to facilitate training.
