The role will shape the strategic direction for the service and will provide professional leadership and direction for all registered pharmacy staff employed by the Trust.
You will report into the Clinical Group Director and work closely with the Care Group Director of Operations and Nursing/Healthcare Professionals. Your ability and experience of driving and successfully achieving change will enable you to provide the leadership and strategic direction required to bring together our teams in the delivery of a patient-focused, cost-effective and high-quality service.
You will hold a relevant professional registration and will have successfully managed within an acute NHS setting. You must have the ability to be creative and innovative to generate opportunities for the service and have experience of involvement with strategic planning processes.
Main duties of the job
The Chief Pharmacist role will be the Trust Pharmacy Lead for Medicines Management, working closely with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to ensure the Trust-wide delivery of safe, effective and efficient Medicines Optimisation. The post holder will be responsible for strategic pharmacy development agendas and upholding statutory requirements related to the safe and effective running of pharmacy services to patients and other service users in the Trust.
The post holder will work to ensure plans for provision of Pharmacy services are implemented and monitored for effectiveness across the Trust, ensuring there are appropriate systems and accountability structures in place to provide board level assurance on all safety and statutory requirements.
