You will lead a talented team managing acute hand injuries, collaborating closely with surgical, ED, and therapy colleagues. Alongside delivering advanced clinical care, you will guide service development, research, and workforce growth.

Main duties of the job

To provide highly specialist assessment, treatment and advice to patients within your area of speciality facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries

To give highly specialist guidance and advice to other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) on matters relating to your specialist area

To provide a lead role in teaching and supervising physiotherapists, occupational therapists and students

To contribute to the development of the Hand Therapy service through the promotion, adaptation and development of policies, procedures and guidelines using evidence-based practise and current research

Our patients are benefitting from ourWomen's Health Hubin Ilford; an Ageing Well Centrein Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospitaland at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 94,000 scans a year.

The majority of our 8,000 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexiblyand more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We're proud to be a London Living Wageemployer.
