Job summary

We are looking for an outstanding individual who embodies our Trust PRIDE Values to come and join our children's oncology team. If you have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your initiative and are keen to work and collaborate to deliver high quality and responsive children's nursing care within a very diverse and busy children's oncology service, please apply for this position. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced band 6 or band 7 children's nurse to work within our children's oncology nursing team. You will also be supported by your fellow band 7 oncology nurse colleagues, Matron and Lead nurse. Main duties of the job

To provide effective clinical leadership, expertise and advice to support the delivery of high-quality nursing care to children and young people with oncology/oncology related illnesses.

To provide advanced clinical care through health assessment, initiation of treatment, formulation and alteration of treatment and monitoring of care programmes to children and young people within an agreed scope of practice.

To support the development of clinical protocols and care pathways for oncology patients.

To facilitate the development of evidence based clinical practice through improvement, research and audit.

Participate in the education of the multidisciplinary team.

To evaluate through quality assurance initiatives and assessment of clinical outcomes.

To be an expert clinical resource for other healthcare practitioners.
