Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant in Head & NeckSurgery with a specialist interest in Parathyroid Thyroid and Benign Head & Neckto join our dynamic and innovative ENT team. Our department provides acomprehensive, high-quality ENT service to a population of over 750,000 and isrecognised as a leading centre for Head & Neck Surgery.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary team that includes specialists in Otology, Rhinology, Endocrinology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Neurology, and Radiology. You will play a key role in delivering outpatient clinics, diagnostic services, and surgical interventions, with primary focus on Parathyroid Thyroid, Benign Head & Neck patients.
We are looking for someone with substantial experience in Parathyroid Thyroid & Benign Head & Neck Surgery also with experience in paediatric ENT, as well as a strong teaching and mentoring background, with experience in supervising junior doctors and trainees
Main duties of the job
Outpatient Services - Deliver outpatient clinics at Queen's Hospital andperipheral sites, including the weekly Neck Lump Clinic.
Surgical Expertise - Perform Parathyroid and Thyroid, benign and diagnosticcancer Head & Neck procedures, and routine ENT operations. Managecomplications and provide post-operative care.
Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Involvement - Active participation in Parathyroid and Thyroid MDT meetings to ensure high-quality, collaborative patient care.
Clinical & Educational Leadership - Contribute to teaching, training, andmentoring junior doctors, as well as supporting clinical governance and servicedevelopment.
On-Call Commitment - Participate in the emergency ENT on-call rota, providing specialist input when required.
The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and lead service improvements is essential
