Job summary

The pharmacy department at Barking, Havering and Redbridge has undergone a restructure with the creation of new lead pharmacist posts aligned to each Clinical Group within the Trust. With the support of the Heads of Pharmacy and the Chief Pharmacist, the Lead Pharmacist for Haematology/Oncology Services will lead the team through this change, further developing the services and roles of the specialist pharmacists within the Clinical Group and providing excellent care patient care and clinical outcomes within medicine specialities.

This post would suit a pharmacist who already have significant experience working as a Haematology/Oncology at an advanced level and who have experience of service transformation and team management. Main duties of the job

o To lead the Clinical Pharmacy service to Haematology/Oncology Services This will include responsibility for oncology, malignant and non-malignant haematology, and pharmacy support services for radiology.o To lead and manage the Haematology/Oncology pharmacy team.o To lead and develop the role of the Haematology/Oncology pharmacy team in the prescribing and monitoring of systemic anti-cancer therapy.o To lead the development of Haematology/Oncology guidelines and protocolso To lead the introduction of new cancer medicines into the Trust.o To contribute to the management of the drug budget for cancer including ensuring compliance with NICE/CDF criteria and the implementation of drug cost savings.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
