An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced pharmacist to take up the role of patient services pharmacist at Queens Hospital Romford.Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute hospital Trusts in England serving a richly diverse population of over 750,000.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the day to day pharmacists' workload within the dispensary at Queen's Hospital and supporting the pharmacy department in providing a comprehensive, patient orientated pharmacy services in the dispensary and at ward level throughout Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT). He/she will work closely with senior colleagues and technicians to ensure the provision of an integrated and efficient service.

Our patients are benefitting from our Women's Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George's Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.

The majority of our 8,000 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.   • Postgraduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice/Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification)

Desirable

  • MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Pharmacist
  • Formal management training/qualification

  • Comprehensive experience as a clinical pharmacist practitioner - this must include a solid grounding in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice.

Desirable

  • Change management experience and direct involvement of redesign within a service, including promoting evidence based practice
  • Prior experience in a similar role as lead pharmacist in a busy Patients Services/dispensary environment.
