Job summary

An exciting 6 month fixed term/secondment opportunity has arisen in the senior Corporate Nursing team within BHRUT for a Director of Nursing, Harm Free Care. This is a key role with specific responsibility for promoting excellence in clinical care, professional practice, and effective management and delivery of the harm free care agenda. Applications are invited from Registered Nurses/Allied Health Professionals with current experience at a senior level of working Deputy Chief Nurse, Deputy Director of Nursing or AHP, Deputy to the Chief Nurse, Head of Nursing or AHP role. Reporting to the Chief Nurse, the post holder will lead the implementation of the Harm Free Care agenda through the Clinical Groups, leading and developing innovative solutions to manage the quality of care to patients with wellbeing as a central focus. We are looking for someone who is autonomous and self-motivated with strong leadership skills and a professional approach that demonstrates our Trust's vision and values. The successful candidate must be available for immediate start.

Main duties of the job

On behalf of the Chief Nurse be responsible for the strategic development of practice in relation to patient outcomes, development, and maintenance of care standards for all patients.

The post holder will lead the implementation of the Harm Free Care agenda through the Clinical Groups, leading and developing innovative solutions to manage the quality of care to patients with wellbeing as a central focus.

The post holder will line manage the Harm Free Care team.

This post holder will also work closely with the AHPs on improving Harm Free Care.

To lead professional data analysis, using the information to transform clinical practice.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
