Job summary
Band 5 - Fixed Term IT Trainers (until 31st July 2025)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for self-motivated, enthusiastic and well organised individuals to apply for the fixed term IT Trainer posts that have become available to carry out our BAU (Business as Usual) training whilst the current IT Training Team work on the new EPR system (Cerner Millennium) that is being implemented in June 2025.
The IT Training Department is very busy and the team trains, on average, 500 staff members per month. We provide a large range of IT system skills training to clinical and administrative staff across two hospital sites as well as our colleagues in the community. As well as training, we also compile/have available eLearning and videos for alternative means of training.
We are looking for IT Trainers who have experience/some experience in the clinical systems listed below as well as having experience in delivering training to groups either in a classroom or via MS Teams setting, as well as to staff members/colleagues within their workplace.

Main duties of the job
o Delivery of IT training in the classroom, via MS teams and any other designated area/method in accordance with the training schedule using the training resources availableo Undertake the relevant preparation for each training session you are taking including post and pre course set-up as indicated on the lesson plans for each application taughto Undertake post course administration in accordance with the departmental process using BEST (BHRUT's in-House Learning Management System) to record classroom session outcomeso Record all personal training figures on the secure metrics document held on the IT Training Team's shared driveo Ensure that any training material used is kept up to date and relevanto Provide 1:1 training in-situ or via MS teams if identified as a requiremento If required, provide bespoke training for identified groups of staff outside of business as usual (BAU)o Provide administrative support as and when required in the absence of the IT Training Team Administratoro Work alongside staff to develop their skills in the workplaceo Evaluate the effectiveness of your training session using evaluation forms and verbal feedback.

We're looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It'll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
