Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Pathology, for a suitably qualified Quality and Safety Coordinator. We are looking for an individual with expert knowledge of the Quality, Governance and Safety agenda and its constituent components and be able to identify working plans to address these. Experience of using Q-Pulse or any other similar quality management Systems will be an advantage. The post holder will be expected to work with multidisciplinary teams to identify work streams proactively to promote clinical governance and learning within Pathology; review information on the strands of clinical governance producing reports and highlighting areas for actions.
To develop and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with peers and colleagues.
BHRUT Pathology is currently managed across laboratories based at Queens Hospital Romford and King George Hospital Goodmayes. All staff are expected to be able to work on either site as required; this post will be expected to cover the quality requirements at both sites. Pathology plays a pivotal role in the provision of 26 million diagnostic tests annually for the Trust and primary care services.
The successful candidate will join an excellent team providing an efficient and effective Quality and Training service to 2 busy district general hospitals. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with good interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide co-ordination and management of Quality, Governance & safety across Pathology for the Cancer and Clinical Support Division. The post holder will be expected to prioritise and manage their own workload.
The post holder will be expected to have expert knowledge of the Quality, Governance and Safety agenda and its constituent components and be able to identify working plans to address these. The post holder will be expected to work with multidisciplinary teams to identify work streams proactively to promote clinical governance and learning within Pathology; review information on the strands of clinical governance producing reports and highlighting areas for actions.
To develop and maintain positive and constructive working relationships with peers and colleagues.
Regularly has contact with Senior Managers / Clinicians / Directors / Executive members of Trusts and CCGs/ Chief Executives/ Department of Health and Strategic Support Units (SSU) officials.
Liaises with other staff and colleagues within all BHRUT Trusts at all levels.

The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to be accredited as part of a national scheme; the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings forurgent and emergency careat Queen's and King George hospitals; anddata released by NHS Englandshowed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.
We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.
