Job summary
The Surgery, Critical Care and Anaesthetics Clinical Care Group at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust (BHRUT) is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive Diabetic Foot/Vascular Patient Pathway Supervisor in our already established multidisciplinary team within the Vascular Service. The Diabetic Foot/Vascular Patient Pathway Supervisor is a key role in providing accurate data and supporting the clinical vascular team. The post is full time (37.5 hours per week) and will be working with the multidisciplinary team within the vascular service. The post is fully funded by NELFT.
The post reports to the Patient Pathway Manager (PPM). The administration and clerical team within the Clinical Care Group are a dedicated, committed, friendly and efficient team.
The post will be based at Queens Hospital (Romford). This post of Diabetic Foot/Vascular Patient Pathway Supervisor is to provide a comprehensive administrative support role to the diabetic foot and vascular service. The post holder will form an understanding of the national Diabetic Foot requirements and participate in how best to meet these requirements. They will also support the team in the development of performance dashboards and other reports in order to provide qualitative and quantitative impact and outcome data for NHSE Diabetes Transformation Programme that funds this role.
Main duties of the job
The Patient Pathway Supervisor's (PPS) key role is to supervise and support the Patient Pathway Co-ordinators (PPCs) and Patient Pathway Administrators (PPAs) within their teams, ensuring high quality patient experience and assisting service development to maintain this.
This post of the Diabetic Foot MDT/Vascular Patient Pathway Supervisor will manage the diabetic foot and vascular service is to provide a comprehensive administrative support to these services. The post holder will form an understanding of the national Diabetic Foot requirements and participate in how best to meet these requirements. They will also support the team in the development of performance dashboards and other reports to enable informed and rapid management decisions to be made on service changes for both services.

We also provide outpatient services at Brentwood Community Hospital, Barking Hospital, Loxford Polyclinic, and Harold Wood Polyclinic. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London.
As we recover from Covid-19, we're proud to be leading the way nationally in reducing the time our patients wait to get the treatment they need. The pandemic provided the drive forour teams to innovate and change.
We know we have more work to do to improve waiting times for urgent and emergency care, and our performance against the four-hour emergency access standard remains challenged, in comparison to many other London trusts.
We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre; Radiotherapy Centre; Hyper Acute Stroke Unit; and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also pleased to be part of the NEL Cancer Alliance.
