Job summary
The Site Medical Director leads on the provision of guidance and advice to site leadership team on all medical issues pertaining to the Queen's Hospital site, with the aim of improving quality and safety in our services.
The Site Medical Director will determine the key clinical and quality (in conjunction with the Site Director of Nursing) priorities and ensure that these are incorporated into the Trust's clinical and business strategies as well as being built into our performance management processes. The principle responsibility will be to maintain flow through the hospital through closer working with the clinical groups and community teams.
The Site Medical Director will lead on all medical workforce and education issues. This will include the on-going development of our medical leadership, as well as providing leadership and guidance to all clinical staff within the Trust.
Main duties of the job

- To take a leading role in the development of partnership working across patient pathways with other NHS organisations and partners. To represent the Trust externally and to work where appropriate with stakeholders to establish good working relationships with the local CCG/ICS and local clinical leaders
- Work closely with the senior site management team of Chief Executive, Director of Operations and Chief Nurse, the Divisional leadership teams to ensure delivery of high quality, safe and responsive care across all services. For example, assessing and reviewing the medical workforce needs across the hospital against the operational and strategic demands.
- Provide strategic advice and direction to the Chief Executive and Divisional Directors on the deployment of staffing and safe levels of medical staffing.
