Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work at BHRUT while developing skills at clinical fellow level.

The Academy of Medicine at BHRUT aims to provide a structured training platform in order to develop Non-Training Grade Doctors. The training faculty for the Academy are consultants who provide educational and clinical supervision to NTG doctors. The aim is for NTG doctors to have acquired skills which are matched to the curriculum.

To progress doctors to the level of a middle grade, the Academy of Medicine BHRUT endeavours to assist and develop Non-Training Grade junior doctors (SHO) to achieve this minimum requirement.

While not London deanery funded training positions, we are providing successful applicants with the opportunity to develop skills and competencies in internal and acute medicine with the aim of gaining the necessary experience to apply for training posts within the region. The duties of the post, performance criteria and the learning opportunities are matched against the learning outcomes based on the curriculum competencies for core internal medical training. These posts will have full educational and clinical supervision. All trainees will be enrolled onto the Royal College of physicians e-portfolio and be entitled to study leave. The trust's PACES teaching, and medical SHO procedures courses will be available to all doctors on this programme.

This is a banded post participating in an on-call rota.
