If this sounds like your ideal job, we welcome your application, for the post of Matron for Neurology and Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network (CMRN) at the Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide professional nursing leadership to the nursing teams and to support the senior nursing and divisional management teams to improve patient outcomes, enhance patient and family experience and drive quality initiatives forward.
The CMRN is a unique collaborative integrated pathway delivered in a hub (The Walton Centre) and spoke model providing specialist rehabilitation to patients who have suffered traumatic injury or illness.
The Walton Centre is a teaching hospital and is closely associated with the University of Liverpool and Edge Hill University. The Trust was awarded University status in September 2022.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure that the highest quality of patient centred care is delivered by the appropriately skilled nursing workforce. This will be achieved by effective leadership, setting, monitoring and maintenance of professional standards and collaborative working, Supporting the Divisional Nurse Director to ensure the sustained delivery of high standards of nursing care and service delivery
The post holder will contribute to the Senior Nursing Team by ensuring all staff and teams within the defined clinical area are effectively line managed supporting the development of effective clinical leaders at all levels, ensuring that leadership and clinical practice functions are carried out effectively, making best use of available resources.
The post holder will be responsible for monitoring clinical standards within clinical teams, ensuring staff competency, setting objectives and targets, and keeping agreed programmes of work to timetable.
The post holder will work in collaboration with the Neurosurgical Matrons, Infection Control Team and Divisional Nurse Director and the CRMN team leader to support the delivery of the Trust/Rehabilitation Networks overall objectives and service priorities, with a particular focus on nursing practice, patient outcomes, patient experience and quality initiatives. The post holder will be accountable for delivering quality indicators and responsible for quality streams based on national nursing good practice and local quality indicator
