Job summary
As a plumbing apprentice within the Hospital environment, you will be learning and developing skills and knowledge to prepare and install basic building components. Working with building materials (most often pipework) to create and install building components.
Please note you will be required to bring Maths and English qualifications to interview.
Apprentices will learn how to select, install, service, commission and maintain all aspects of plumbing and heating systems. Plumbing and Heating apprentices will learn to install plumbing and heating systems, including, accurate measuring, marking, cutting, bending and jointing metallic and non-metallic pipework. The systems largely consist of, bathroom furniture, hot and cold water, heating pipework, hot water boilers, etc
You will also learn about the necessity to undertake regular planned preventative maintenance on building fabric, notably hot and cold water and showering systems, including associated mixing valves.
Main duties of the job
To work alongside Trust plumbers to learn and develop skills of Trade.
To have a flexible approach to work activities as some tasks may require an element of working outside of normal working hours.
Any other duties within the Estates and Facilities function, which may be required by the Trust, which may be deemed as within the scope of the individuals competence.
Attendance at college for course required for completion of approved apprenticeship.
Attendance of training courses for progression, updates and refreshers in the pursuit of Continual Professional Development.
Keeping appropriate training logs, as required.
Undertake all Trust associated mandatory and e-learning modules, as required.
