We are delighted to offer an exciting new opportunity to work as a Specialist Registrar in Psychiatry within the Neuropsychiatry Team at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust on a 12-month fixed term basis.
You would be working with a compassionate and dedicated team that deliver high quality care to people experiencing neurological and neurosurgical illness or injury and mental ill health.
This unique opportunity will support the Consultant Neuropsychiatrist and Clinical Lead for Neuropsychiatry, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Specialist Nurse and Neuropsychiatry Liaison Nurses.
This is a 40hr per week post will support our inpatient liaison and outpatient service. There is no on-call requirement within this position.

Main duties of the job
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will provide active involvement in the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of service user care responding quickly to those referred with urgent and high risk mental health needs and provide collaborative, effective, evidence based interventions at the right time with the right person.
- You will need to have the following key skills and experience:
- Experience of working in a mental health setting
- Registered with the GMC.
- Have a genuine passion for working with service users and their families and their carers.
- Section 12 approval.
Undertaking assessments of both inpatients and outpatients newly referred and previously under the care of the team, as well as providing clinical supervision on and assessment of cases being seen by other colleagues.
Providing medical treatment within a model of multi-disciplinary care.
Attending clinical team meetings, MDTs and ward rounds and performing medical duties that are decisions of that meetings.
Compiling a patient's history from a number of sources, and preparing case summaries.
Completion of detailed mental health assessments and risk assessments.
Preparing reports for Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers' Hearings and giving evidence.
Liaising with other clinical teams within and outside the trust.
Liaising with medical and surgical specialists with regards the physical and mental health of the patients.
Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments.
