An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Headache Service at The Walton Centre.
We are looking for someone with previous experience in the NHS environment who would be interested in developing this new and exciting role for the service. The Headache Service Coordinator is a full time role, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate must be able to undertake all administrative duties, be well organised, able to plan their workload, work on their own initiative and work to strict deadlines both individually and as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
Deal with all queries, correspondence and telephone calls in a, professional and sensitive manner, liaising with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to respond to such queries timely.
Assist the Headache Clinical Lead and Specialist Nurses with the smooth running of the CGRP pathway.
Co-ordinate the prescription process, liaising with consultants, headache nurse specialists, and pharmacy to ensure timely initiation of CGRP treatment for patients.
Liaise with Trust Pharmacy, designated external Homecare Drug provider and GPs to ensure patients commencing CGRP treatment is processed timely and escalate any identified bottlenecks as appropriate.
Overseeing input of headache diaries including headache scores and previously tried preventatives for each patient on to the CGRP spreadsheet in a timely manner.
Monitor the CGRP spreadsheet and ensure patients are reviewed within the required timescales so that efficacy outcomes are obtained.
Overseeing the input of headache outcome data collection onto the CGRP spreadsheet in a timely manner.
Monitoring patients review attendance and following up as appropriate.
Co-ordinate appointment bookings for the CGRP service; ensuring additional clinic capacity is sourced as required. Liaise with the consultants and Headache Specialist Nurses to ensure a smooth and effective service for patients.
Liaise with consultants, Headache Specialist Nurses and Divisional Managers to schedule CGRP outpatient sessions to ensure capacity is fully utilised.

To work with the minimum of supervision in an organised, efficient manner in order to maximise the effective use of both their own time and that of the wider Neurology clinical team.
