Job summary

Are you experienced in graphic design and all things digital? Want to contribute to an exciting new communications and marketing approach for a leading specialist NHS Trust? If so, the role of Digital Communications and Design Officer at The Walton Centre could be the role for you.

We're looking for someone to join our team and drive forward effective digital and print channels and resources as part of the new Trust strategy.

If you have experience in a design/digital role, a track record of delivering creative digital communications and marketing solutions, experience in design and print, and working with medium to large-scale website content management systems, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

To develop and lead on digital media and design for The Walton Centre, working within a dynamic and innovative Communications and Marketing Team, and drive forward effective digital and print channels and resources as part of the new Trust strategy.

Job responsibilities

Working with the Communications and Marketing Team to maintain the Trusts public-facing website, creating engaging and useful online content that will drive more visitors to our site, help them find the information they need and keep their interest for longer

To monitor website statistics that analyse the usage of web pages to allow for continuous improvement, usability analysis and customer accessibility

Utilise appropriate analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of our digital communications and make recommendations on where improvements can be made

Ensure that government standards for digital content accessibility are followed

Lead on digital and print design with a focus on ensuring a consistent approach to corporate messages and branding and an understanding of delivery to the relevant audience

Produce designed print content such as leaflets, posters, reports

Produce design content for digital channels including website and intranet banners, gifs, social media content, graphics

Edit video, audio and image content for use within internal and external communications channels

Create, review and update multimedia content for social media, website and the intranet including webinars and podcasts, ensuring content is relevant and appropriate

To provide professional guidance on design and media projects to maximise the effectiveness of campaigns. This will include appropriate utilisation of social media platforms.

Review new technologies and keep the trust at the forefront of developments in modern digital communications and marketing to improve user experience internally and externally

To provide a liaison between the Communications and Marketing Team and the Trusts Digital Team with regards to ongoing and emerging digital and design communication projects

Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in partner agencies and external providers to deliver shared goals, across all print and media platforms.

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • 5 x GCSEs at Level C or above (Including English & Maths)

  • Solid experience of working on medium to large-scale websites and intranets using a CMS
  • Understanding and experience in using Google analytics or similar package
  • Web editing and proof reading
  • Experience in search engine optimisation
  • Knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign and Illustrator, Canva and other design software
  • Experience of social media content creation and scheduling (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Excellent time management skills and an ability to consistently meet deadlines
