Job summary
An opportunity has become available to work on the Nurse Telephone Advice line within the Walton Centre. The hours are non-flexible from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
You will provide comprehensive administrative cover for the Consultant and Nurse advice lines and the Tele Neurology dashboard within the Neurology division.
Provide assistance and guidance as required to all patients and carers using the nurse advice line.
You will complete ward outcomes, assist with clinical outcomes and registering patients on our PAS system.
Main duties of the job
Nurse Appointment Line
- Deal with incoming calls to the nurse advice line ensuring a high standard of customer care is provided.
- Book appointments for patients requiring nurse advice call back onto the PAS and E-portal systems.
- Deal efficiently with enquiries from patients, carers and GPs in a timely and courteous manner, providing basic information and non-clinical advice.
Consultant Advice Line
- To input all data collected from the Consultant advice line onto the relevant system.
- Access Summary Care Record to obtain and input patient demographics onto the relevant system.
- Accurate audio typing, using the Trust EP2 system.
Tele Neurology
- Deal with incoming calls to the Tele Neurology line from District General Hospitals ensuring a high standard of customer care is provided.
- Book appointments for the Tele Neurology consultations onto the PAS.
- Record outcomes of Tele Neurology consultation onto relevant system.
Other responsibilities
- Check and update patient demographic details onto PAS to ensure data quality is maintained.
- Provide a courteous and helpful service to the patient and be empathetic to their needs.
- Provide cover for colleagues in the event of sickness and holidays.
