Job summary
The post holder will provide a comprehensive administrative service to staff members within the MS team and will help to facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey across all elements of the MS service across North Wales by co-ordinating processes and monitoring the service provided to patients. To be responsible for the collection, and monitoring of all data pertaining to the service. To work with the minimum supervision in an organised, efficient and effective manner, in order to maximise the effective use of both their own time and that of departmental staff. It is essential that the post holder uses initiative compatible to the role and it is vital that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Main duties of the job
Establish and ensure the continuation of effective communication between the MDT Team, including Consultants. Specialist Nurses and Therapists.
Management of large numbers of patient prescriptions ensuring recording and approval on the Blueteq system
Liaise with external prescription management companies, funding sources, regional physicians, regional MS Nurses, GPs and the patient as required.
Deal with non-clinical queries from patients, their Carers, general practitioners and members of the MDT Team.
To retrieve medical records and correspondence relating to patient/clinician enquired. Follow H&S guidelines for moving and handling of loads.
Process all enquiries for information/case notes both face to face and on the telephone using PAS and other appropriate systems.
To ensure correct and timely filing of results, tests and all correspondence into the Walton Centre case notes.
Sort, date stamp distribute and re-direct incoming mail.
Date stamp all referrals which come into the office and log them in the agreed manner.
Use the Patient Administration System as required.
