Job summary

The Neuromodulation service offers an excellent development opportunity for a specialist physiotherapist interested in developing themselves as an expert in the neurosurgical management of spasticity. We are seeking a clinician skilled in the assessment and treatment of patients with long-term neurological conditions. The post will sit within the neurosurgical MDT for patients undergoing multi-disciplinary review for complex spasticity. The service offers ongoing assessment for patients being offered intrathecal baclofen, selective dorsal rhizotomy and peripheral neurectomy. The post includes completing holistic assessment as part of a joint MDT with neurosurgical and neurorehabilitation consultants. Your role will include performing subjective and objective assessments, liaising with the spasticity MDT and delivering and co-ordinating intervention to the patients. The role will also offer support assessment of patients at the weekly intrathecal baclofen pump refill clinic and support the assessment of a neurorehabilitation consultant led nerve block clinic.As an effective team player you will have excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to service delivery. You will have a strong interest in audit and research with an ongoing commitment to CPD, service development and innovation. You will be supported by the wider MDT, including neurologist and neurosurgeons, alongside professional physiotherapy support from within the Walton Centre Therapies Service.
