Job summary
An opportunity has arisen in the Gynaecology division to support the delivery of the national Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets.
The successful applicant will be responsible for tracking patients on open RTT pathways, in line with national standards. While the role is mainly for open RTT pathways there will be some validation for patients on follow up waiting lists who have already received treatment.
The applicant will be responsible for ensuring timely escalations and treatments. The role is required to work closely with the operational service ensuring that patients pathways are expedited as required.
The role involves using multiple hospital systems, including Digicare and Cris.
Main duties of the job
1. Validate on PAS data used to inform the measurement of the Trusts compliance with RTT performance measures and ensure the data is of high quality.
2. Confirm the accuracy of the RTT data. Report accuracy issues back to the user in a structured and informative way, enabling the users to improve their knowledge of the patient pathways and data entry on PAS.
3. Work closely with the Head of Information to provide clear guidance and training to staff at all levels on how to validate RTT data effectively, so that Directorates understand the causes of poor data quality, can identify good practice in data quality and are able to validate their own data.
4. Attend weekly Access & Performance meetings and give updates on divisional PTL's
5. Work with staff responsible for using PAS to record patient pathway activity to ensure the information is provided in line with agreed national and local guidelines.
6. Use own judgement to prioritise tasks according to the needs of the service.
7. Supervise the work of junior staff members, carrying out appraisal and return to work interviews as required.
8. Make decisions demonstrating specialist knowledge to support the production of high quality RTT data on the Trusts PAS.
9. Make transactional changes on PAS in line with RTT guidance and the Patient Access Policy.
