Job summary
To work as a speciality doctor supporting the Anaesthetic workforce in theatres and obstetrics. Working a mixture of in hours (7am - 7pm) and out of hours over night and weekends.
Main duties of the job
It is expected that the post holder will work flexibly under the direction of the Anaesthesia and Theatres Directorate to provide anaesthetic services.Initially, all lists are under close supervision of a Consultant Anaesthetist, and depending on previous experience and competencies, the successful candidate will be expected to work unaccompanied.The work on delivery suite encompasses elective and emergency obstetricanaesthesia in supporting the busy unit.There is a Full Shift pattern rota for the department. The successful candidate will be expected in the normal run of his/her duties and within the contract and job description, to cover for the occasional brief absences of a colleague as far as is practical. An EWTD compliant full shift rota. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake emergency on-call, including attendance at cardiac arrest calls.

- MBBS/MBchB or equivalent medical qualification
- Full GMC registration with license to practice at the time of appointment
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- ICM (Basic Competency)
- Obstetric Anaesthesia (Basic Competency

- 4 years minimum experience in Anaesthetics.
- Obstetric Anaesthesia (Intermediate Competency or equivalent)
