Job summary

The Trust is looking to recruit a 1.0 WTE gynaecology research nurse.

The aim of this post is to allow opportunity for a high calibre nurse to develop their skills both clinically and in the field of research. We aim toequip the individual with the skills and qualifications to become a strong autonomous research practitioner within their specialist clinical field.The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Trust with its commitment to a sustained and dramatic increase in recruitment of patients into research studies. For this role the post holder will specifically be concerned with recruitment to the gynaecology research studies. The individual will also be responsible for assisting the Research & Development office with feasibility and set up of new research.

The Trust has a diverse and growing portfolio of research its research practitioners are recruiting to, some of which overlap with maternity.

Internal secondments may be considered but applicants MUST SEEK APPROVAL from their substantive clinical line manager FIRST.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the operational management of gynaecology research studies.
  • To contribute to all aspects of the planning, conduct and reporting of the portfolio clinical research trials and studies.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day management of, and patient recruitment to designated research studies.
  • To work on a daily basis with minimum supervision as part of the research team.
  • To ensure that all clinical research activity is ICH GCP compliant and conducted in accordance with the agreed protocols.
  • To maintain a high standard of patient care in line with Trust and R&D procedures and protocols and in accordance with the UK PolicyFramework for Health and Social Care Research.
  • To prioritise research activity as necessary thus ensuring recruitment targets are met.
  • To ensure that all data is collected and managed effectively and accurately.
  • Act as a focus for research communication within the Trust and with external partners including the Clinical Research Network.
