Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a PACS Manager here at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and leading the Picture Archive and Communications System (PACS), the Radiology Information System (RIS), and other systems connected to PACS across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post acts as the first point of contact and escalation of issues in relation to these systems, ensuring proactive monitoring and resolution is undertaken. This post is also responsible for managing and leading the PACS Administration.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex or multi stranded issues in a clear and logical manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight timescales with high level of organisational skills
  • Ability to interact within a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexible and adaptive to meet service needs
  • Good listening and interpretation skills
  • Self-motivated and able to lead a team taking on board any new ideas, skills and knowledge
  • Ability to concentrate on difficult issues with constant disruption

Qualifications & Learning

Essential

  • Degree in Computer related subject or equivalent experience
  • Project Management Qualification or equivalent experience

  • Supervisory Management

  • Expert knowledge of the workings of RIS and PACS
  • Excellent understanding of radiology services
  • Good understanding of managing performance
  • Good understanding of imaging modalities
  • Good understanding of all Microsoft Office applications
  • Supervisory management knowledge
  • Experience of multiple hospital systems
  • System implementation
  • Providing formal and informal training

Desirable

  • Good knowledge of DICOM and HL7
  • Good understanding of function and interaction of computerize radiology and subsidiary systems (HIS, RIS, PAS, and PACS)
  • Awareness of Data Standards Dictionary Significant experience of PACS and RIS management
  • Previous experience managing a small team
  • Experience managing a RIS and PACS system in a consortium setting
